dc.description.abstractThe meeting was convened to deliberate on peace and security issues in Africa within the context of the UN-AU partnership. Members of the UN Security Council and the African Union Peace and Security Council discussed issues of common concern on strengthening the AU and UN Peace Support Operations in Africa, the situation in West Africa and the Sahel, the situation in the Great Lakes region, as well as application of sanctions in conflict situations in Africa.en
